Mayumi Asari
Illustrator / Picture Book Artist
She creates images and picture books inspired by small presences in nature—living creatures, food, and quiet moments found in everyday life.
With minimal words and spacious compositions, her work leaves a gentle resonance that continues after the viewer has turned the page.
She has exhibited in “Art de Tsuzuru Wako Saijiki 2023” (Ginza Wako, Tokyo) and the group exhibition “Beyond the Grass Field” (2025).
In between making work, she spends time standing by rivers, watching the flow of water— a rhythm that becomes the breath of her images.
